With many churches reopening their buildings for worship, you might be asking, “what about Life Church?”
As we prepare ourselves to return to gathering as a body once again, we are faced with balancing the desire to join together once again in person, and the need to ensure that everyone is able to join with with us in our celebration services. With that in mind, there are a few things we are setting out to do prior to reopening our doors:
First, we are making some technology preparations. We want to ensure that those who are not comfortable, or are not able to join us in person can still join us online in a similar fashion to what we have been doing the past couple of months. We are in the process of bringing internet service into the LC and setting up the hardware and software necessary to broadcast our Celebration live.
Second, we need to have clear expectations and understanding of what we are able to do when we gather again. There are certain guidelines that the province has set out for us, and also restrictions that we are setting for the safety of ourselves and our community. We want to be good neighbours and ensure that everyone is safe.
And finally, we want to have our space set up so that we can ensure sanitation and the necessary distancing to keep everyone protected.
Things are going to be a little different when we return; there won’t be the hugs, the groups, the kids programs, or the abundant Life Church snacks. But one thing remains the same; our God is great, and is the same yesterday, today and forever. It’s Him we worship amidst all this! So when we do reopen, it will be with joy, smiles, and six feet of physical distance!
