With many churches reopening their buildings for worship, you might be asking, “what about Life Church?”
Update: April 15, 2020 The latest COVID-19 newsletter from our local doctors can be downloaded below: Update: April 6, 2020 Here is the latest COVID-19 newsletter from our local doctors: Update: March 25, 2020 Update: March 20, 2020 Life Church will be meeting online only over the next few weeks beginning this Sunday, March 22. A link will be put out on Saturday evening that will allow you to connect and join in on Sunday morning at 10am. We’re thankful that at this time we can still gather together as a community of faith. It’s been wonderful to see so many enjoying the outdoors this past week. The smiles of neighbours and a heartfelt wave are like someone inviting you out for coffee…it reminds us that we are created for community! So, enjoy your families, phone a friend, write the letter you’ve been meaning to! Don’t forget – keeping your distance physically doesn’t mean that your heart holds back. So, think about who you can call, laugh and pray with today!
Collecting food for Loaves and Fishes food bank. This year there will be two options for donating: either you can drop items off yourself at the drop box at Life Church from October 29-31, or contact us to come by and collect from your place in Claremont. If you would like us to collect from your place, please send us you address by email, directly to Craig if you have his info, or contact us through our facebook page. We will be starting pickup at 6:30 on the 31st so please have your food out on your front step or driveway by that time. We can only accept non-perishable foods, and of course expired foods will end up being disposed of. This year the food bank has a specific need for canned vegetables, pasta sauce, canned fruit, apple sauce, and cereal. Let’s bless the food bank and those who are in need of it!!!
With the cooler weather of fall upon us we’re heading back indoors. It’s our goal to follow public health guidelines to the best of our abilities; we’re asking everyone to follow masking policies, sanitize when you arrive, and sign the contact tracing sheet. If you have any questions or concerns about how we’re doing things, please talk to us. We miss you all and hope to see you inside soon!
This Sunday, August 1st we will be having a “be a blessing” Sunday – there won’t be celebration happening at LC. We want to encourage you to spend some time blessing others!
We are back to in-person Celebration! We are meeting outside, so make sure you bring a lawn chair, blanket, etc. In the event of a rain day we are capped at 15% capacity indoors. Please ensure that you let Craig know if you will be attending in person.
As of now, Durham is out of lockdown. We are resuming worship in the building, with capacity limitations. If you plan on attending in person instead of online, please contact Craig to let him know. we will need you to fill out contact information at the entrance for tracing purposes. While in the building we ask that you continue following health guidelines; wear a mask, sanitize, and do your best to maintain distance.
Due to the current lockdown level for Durham Region, Celebration will be online-only for the duration of the lockdown. Please contact us or check our Facebook page for Zoom login information. We will miss seeing everyone and look forward to being allowed to reopen for in-person gatherings!
We know, you’ve all been wondering what’s going on with Christmas this year! Us too! While it might be a little smaller group around your tree this year, we’ve still got a reason to celebrate, because Emmanuel, God With Us, is still with us! Christmas Eve is on folks! Thursday, December 24, 2020 @ 7pm A couple important details: If you’re coming in person we need to know. You can let Craig know directly, or send us an email. We need to make sure our capacities are acceptable. We’re still broadcasting on Zoom. It’s the same Celebration link we’ve been using. You can get the link from the header image or contact us for it.
Sunday, December 20th @ 4:30pm We will be having an outdoor carol service at Life Church on Sunday afternoon! Dress for the weather, keep your six feet distance, and be prepared to sing! Let’s bring some joy to Claremont!
As of Monday, November 23, Durham region will be entering the red level, which means there may be new restrictions in effect. Please stay tuned for more information as we receive guidance from our local public officials. Celebration on the 22nd will be typical; please let Craig know if you will be attending.
Bring your lawn chairs! We’re heading back outside to enjoy the unusually warm November weather this week! The usual rules apply if you need to go into the building, and please make sure to keep your distance outdoors too.
