With many churches reopening their buildings for worship, you might be asking, “what about Life Church?”
Update: April 15, 2020 The latest COVID-19 newsletter from our local doctors can be downloaded below: Update: April 6, 2020 Here is the latest COVID-19 newsletter from our local doctors: Update: March 25, 2020 Update: March 20, 2020 Life Church will be meeting online only over the next few weeks beginning this Sunday, March 22. A link will be put out on Saturday evening that will allow you to connect and join in on Sunday morning at 10am. We’re thankful that at this time we can still gather together as a community of faith. It’s been wonderful to see so many enjoying the outdoors this past week. The smiles of neighbours and a heartfelt wave are like someone inviting you out for coffee…it reminds us that we are created for community! So, enjoy your families, phone a friend, write the letter you’ve been meaning to! Don’t forget – keeping your distance physically doesn’t mean that your heart holds back. So, think about who you can call, laugh and pray with today!
This Sunday we are back on Zoom for Celebration – stay home and dry and tune in using the same link as usual!
Hello Life Church! We are excited to announce our plan to re-open outdoors beginning this Sunday to worship and praise God together again. We respect that everyone is in a different position as far as their comfort level and ability to meet. We are trying to make this a safe and comfortable way to meet for anyone choosing to do so. Important information for gathering The health and safety of our church family and visitors is our first priority. We are excited to get together but need to ensure we are doing it as responsibly as possible. So, if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms that could be related to covid please call your doctor before planning any excursion! The Ontario government has moved Durham region into stage 3 of their re-opening plan. We will be following all of the guidelines laid out by the ministry of health. What to expect: Social Distancing It’s been a while since we’ve all been together. Although we’re a friendly, loving group, we ask that you fight the urge to hug each other for the time being. Social distancing of 6 feet between families will be required. What do I need to Bring? Please bring your …

Wednesday, March 11 Katie F. will be doing a presentation for OneChild, an organization focused on empowering youth to lead the fight against child exploitation and sexual trafficking. This is a real issue that is present in our area. This is going to be an informative and eye-opening presentation and we would encourage you to come out if you are able. For more information on OneChild and the subject matter of the evening, please check out their website.
Join us this Sunday (March 8) as we hear from the team that was in Ghana during February! This is sure to be a challenging and motivating morning! We will also be taking a special offering to go towards completing the dormitory building in Ghana. Please pray about this and give as God leads you to. After our Celebration service we will be having a potluck, so bring some food and stories to share around the table!
It’s that time of year again! As always, there are a ton of events and things to do, so make sure you check out the schedule and mark up your calendars! Head on out and spend some time with friends and neighbours from the community! Life Church is hosting some events again this year, and we’d like to mention specifically the Level Ground Cafe; we could always use some extra hands with baking, setup, etc. If you are able to get involved, please speak with Jake as soon as possible!
Moving Forward New Year’s resolutions are easy to make, but often don’t stick. The problem? Habits are so established in our lives that the resolutions have no basis of development. The underlying patterns determine how we move forward, and resolutions are often just wishful thinking. Establishing Patterns “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1) If you read through the account of creation you see exquisite patterns emerge: day/night; earth/sky; water/land; sun/moon…and God infused life into it all! Fish…plants…animals…then the creation of humans…not random… Then God said, “let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Gen. 1:26-27 The story unfolds…Adam and Eve’s choice…sin enters…repeated by us… Establishing Patterns A cursed creation left groaning,Burdened,Choked. Destined to spoil,Everything toil. Establishing Patterns “Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as …
